Scope:

Transport Radioactive sources from a manufacturer in the US to a large oil & gas company in the UAE in liaison with multiple stakeholders globally.

Challenges:

• Coordination with multiple Entities & Agencies at all stages of shipment from Export clearance in the US till delivery at site in the UAE.
• Establishment of effective and efficient communication channels clearly defining roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of all associates.
• To bring all stakeholders and associates on same page with regards to documentation & compliance requirement. It was a major challenge since entities were based in different countries and were not familiar with the guidelines and laws of foreign land.
• Conflict in Client’s internal Policy & Import Regulation of destination country warranted Third Party as Importer of record.
• Class 7 DG Cargo is always a challenge for expeditious clearance at port of import. This being an urgent requirement at site, was more of a challenge

Course of action:

• Overall SEVEN organizations were involved in this shipment and Peeraj successfully established clear lines of communication with all parties.
